How to compare hospitals
- Volume. Ask how many cases like yours the team treats each year.
- Who treats you. Ask for the name and training of the lead doctor.
- Accreditation. A hospital may mention Joint Commission International (JCI). Check the claim with JCI directly, because counts in marketing material vary widely.
- Language. Ask who will interpret, and whether that person is available on the ward at night.
- Records. Ask whether you will leave with reports and images in English.
- Price. Public hospitals often run separate international departments, and private hospitals price differently. Compare written estimates.
